Breaking into Print
نویسندگان
چکیده
This assignment aims to help nascent scholars break into print and develop scholarly connections between their own areas of interest the subfield rhetoric, composition, writing studies (RC&WS). Drawing on advice from Ballif et al. (2008), students in my graduate seminar write a publication quality book review recently published monograph RC&WS. After series priming activities, engage structured peer that follows guidelines I developed as editor at Composition Studies.

متن کاملBreaking into the Field
We present a method called ngLOC, an n-gram-based Bayesian classifier that predicts the localization of a protein sequence over ten distinct subcellular organelles. A tenfold cross-validation result shows an accuracy of 89% for sequences localized to a single organelle, and 82% for those localized to multiple organelles. An enhanced version of ngLOC was developed to estimate the subcellular pro...
متن کاملA system for converting print into braille.
This paper describes a method for converting text into braille, in the form in which it is stored as in a computer. The system has been designed to be configurable for a wide range of languages and character sets, and uses a predominantly table driven method to achieve this. The algorithm is explained in the context of the conversion of text into Standard English Braille (British), and the tabl...
متن کاملBreaking the World into Symbols
How do people come to assign symbolic labels to continuous dimensions? Previous work has shown that prediction-errordriven models are sensitive to the order of labels and exemplars during training; similar patterns of learning are found found in adult learners trained to associate labels with discrete visual stimuli. Here we provide further evidence in support of the hypothesis that an error-dr...
متن کاملIntegrating symmetry breaking into a DLL procedure
Many real-world problems have interesting symmetries. Encoding these problems into CNF formulas generally results in hard SAT problems. Examples includes the pigeon hole problem, which, although very simple, is nonpolynomial for any resolution-based method when encoded into SAT [6], and the n queen problem. In order to speed up search algorithms for these problems, intrinsic symmetries should b...
